Bernie meme I am once again asking for Armadale fic. The one fandom where avoiding piping is impossible. This is a Victorian novel that's quite long, contains a ton of era typical suspense and perspectives. The canon has a great female antagonist and five characters named Allan Armadale, identity porn and m/m slashiness. It's so good! I highly recommend it to people who don't mind reading brick-sized old novels.

I love both of these pairings. The fathers Armadale are a more complicated, torrid affair with debauchery probably happening before 'Fergus' decided to dip and therefore earned the eternal wrath/obsession of Allan Wrentmore. They're definitely the darker pairing, with potential for dubcon, manipulation, period-typical drug use and suchlike. They definitely fucked nasty, so nasty that it was noted by Mrs Wrentmore who was appalled by it and forbade the 'friendship'. I could also see angst about the canon events and how Allan Wrentmore feels about it on his deathbed. Does he consider his crime justified?
Allan/Ozias on the other hand are so devoted and sweet. They are each other's number ones, even in the novel where they end up in het pairings. I would adore smut for them! They could slowly discover intimacy together and Ozias could be fretful and tender about it and Allan chaotic and enthusiastic about it. I'd also love anything showcasing the differences between their dispositions, comedic perhaps. Allan is truly sunshine and Ozias is the dark-minded woobie. They're everything.
Epistolary or setting change AUs would also be interesting for this fandom!
This is a 7 book romance novel series but the pairing I'm requesting is only in one book: Call Me Irresistible. This is a wonderful romance about a rich girl who gets cut off from her parents right as her best friend ditches her groom at the altar and runs off. Meg is left to deal with being penniless in a town that blames her for the bride running away, and the ex-fiance, Ted, who is a saint to everyone else but Meg. She has to strive to make some money, deal with the townfolk's horrible meddling and face the simmering tension between her and Ted.
Ted Beaudine/Meg Koranda
THEM! I re-read this last year and it's such a delight. Meg is a truly wonderful romcom heroine, she's got such determination, a mouth that won't stop, and she's incredibly perceptive about everyone around her. Ted is absolutely obsessed with her from the get-go, but he's far too logical and smart to let that interfere with the correct course of his life, which includes marrying Meg's best friend, until it doesn't. I really thought this set up with turn me off, but from the opening pages it's easy to see why Lucy and Ted aren't good for the long haul and why the chemistry between Ted and Meg just might be.
Anyway, this a miniscule fandom where my own filthy stories are the only things in the tag. But I'd love anything for it! Setting change AUs! Genderswitch to m/m or f/f! Future fic about how Meg's career turns out, since that's such a thread through the book. Smut! Especially smut that talks about the "too perfect" nature of his lovemaking, which was one of my favorite things about the book.
